Carl M. Bashear Radcliff Veterans Center
Commonwealth of Kentucky Division of Engineering | Radcliff, Kentucky | 2016
The Carl M. Bashear Radcliff Veterans Center campus is comprised of a single-story story central community building surrounded by 4 single-story residential neighborhood buildings. Site development for the Central Kentucky VA senior home was comprehensive and included all improvements necessary for the placement of 4 neighborhood buildings and the community center. The campus was developed to provide reasonable access between all buildings with conditioned corridors that connect all neighborhood buildings to the community center. Staff, administration, and visitor parking is proportionately provided for all buildings.
The campus was designed in the “Green House” style of buildings and orientations. Therapy gardens and courtyards were designed for each home within each neighborhood.
The CARMAN office served as the site design consultant for the project and provided Landscape Architectural and Civil Engineering services.
