Tates creek high school

CARMAN was selected to provide landscape architecture and civil engineering service for the new Tates Creek High School located on the existing Tates Creek Campus in Lexington. The existing campus contains an elementary, middle and high school and struggled with vehicular and pedestrian circulation as the campus has a large pedestrian population. CARMAN was able to implement a new vehicular circulation pattern utilizing a roundabout that organizes bus and car traffic with improved overall flow during drop-off and pickup. Pedestrian safety was greatly increased with focused crossing points and a traffic table between the elementary and middle schools.

The project was completed while students occupied the existing high school without incedent. CARMAN provided all site design and engineering on the project which included permeable paver parking lots, baseball and softball fields, and completely new utility infrastructure.
